I'm not a writer, but I have something to say. We are changing the world so quickly that some are having trouble keeping up.
The changes of the past...
Perhaps the most amazing thing about us humans is how much we change our world. Other animals are doomed to reacting to their environment. An eagle today does the same thing that his great-great-great-great-... you get the idea.
We, on the other hand, can hardly comprehend the lives of our ancestors. Rewind the clock just 100 years and you'll find a United States without television, where cars were a luxury, and most people relied on horses or public transportation. Day to day life meant working outside the home, either in factories, offices, or small businesses, usually for long hours and six days a week.
The changes of the future...
I’m writing to let others know that we continue to change our world today. I’m writing because while my parents are on their chicken farm filing receipts in manilla folders, my friends in Silicon Valley are using recent advances to be incredibly efficient and successful. I’m writing to help get the word out: We continue to change the world, and we’re changing it in ways that can make your life easier. One of the most powerful changes might be Natural Language Processing, a technology that can understand and write words.
In each blog post, I’ll explore a common situation that is stressful, time-consuming, or tricky. Then, I’ll show how you can use the power of Natural Language Processing to solve the problem.
In between writing blog posts, my partner and I are working on an app (called Mercury) that will make it simple for anyone to access the power of Natural Language Processing. We're working hard to make it as easy to use as possible, so that anyone can benefit from this technology. If you'd like to test our Alpha, please download it here.
